AlDiaTX.com Wins Murrow Award for Best Non-Broadcast Web Site

Dallas, TX — AlDiaTX.com, the Web site associated with the Spanish language newspaper Al Dia, was honored today with the Edward R. Murrow Award for best non-broadcast Web site by the Radio-Television News Directors Association and Foundation (RTNDA).

The Dallas news operation of Belo Interactive, internet subsidiary of the Belo Corp., produces AlDiaTX.com in conjunction with Al Dia‘s newspaper staff. Launched in September, 2003, AlDiaTX.com features comprehensive and updated news and information produced by the largest Spanish-language news staff in the Southwest. The staff has access to Belo Corp.’s respected news resources in the U.S. and The Dallas Morning News bureaus, including Mexico City, Cuba, South America and other international locations.

RTNDA has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Murrow’s pursuit of excellence in journalism embodies the spirit of the awards that carry his name. Murrow Award recipients demonstrate the excellence that Edward R. Murrow made a standard for the electronic news profession. The award for best non-broadcast Web site is a new category added in 2004.

Belo Interactive’s Dallas news operation produces AlDiaTX.com and six other daily Web sites from a centralized newsroom headquartered at The Dallas Morning News.
